How billing works
Every job reserves its worst case when it starts and settles at most that. Receipts are on every job and result. Billing docs →
What counts as a minute?+
The length of the video you send, rounded up to the second, with a 30-second minimum per request. A 24-second clip bills 30 seconds; a 61.4-second clip bills 62 seconds.
What happens when my balance runs out?+
New jobs are refused with HTTP 402 insufficient_credits before any work starts. Jobs already running finish; their cost was reserved when they started.
Do failed or cancelled jobs cost anything?+
No. A job that fails, or is cancelled before it finishes, releases its reservation and is never charged. A retry with the same idempotency key returns the original job rather than charging again.
Can I cap what a request costs?+
Yes. Send billing.max_charge with any processing request. If the estimate exceeds it, the request is refused with 402 charge_cap_exceeded; otherwise the job never settles above it. POST /v1/estimates quotes a ready asset before you run anything.
How long do you keep my footage?+
Uploaded media is deleted after 7 days, or as soon as you call DELETE /v1/assets/{id}. Results are kept 30 days. Your media is not used to train models.
Is there a free tier?+
Every account gets $10 of credit once its email is verified, and test-mode keys are free forever: they return labelled fixtures with the real response shapes.
